Overview

Low voltage rescue and CPR training, which includes the units UETDRRF004 LV Rescue and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This skillset equips participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform rescues from live low voltage (LV) panels and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within the context of transmission, distribution, or rail work functions.

It is specifically tailored for electricity supply industry (ESI) workers engaged in the installation and/or maintenance of network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) mobility and mutual aid requirements.

Give us a call at (07) 3375 5822 or (07) 4514 9035 to get started.

Participants who pass the assessment will receive a Statement of Attainment acknowledged by the Australian Qualifications Framework. This accreditation is recognised across Australia. The Statement is issued by ModSkills+ Talented Training (RTO 45144).

National Unit of Competency

UETDRRF004 – Perform rescue from a live LV panel

HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This course provides participants with the confidence and competence required to perform CPR on an unconscious casualty, in the context of those having suffered electrocution. This training course is designed for any person who may need to perform CPR during the course of their employment.

This training course is taught according to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. This training course takes personnel through both the theory of why we do CPR and many practical exercises that illustrate how CPR is performed.

The LVR component of this training covers the skills and knowledge required for a person to be able to carry out a risk assessment of an electrically hazardous situation and perform low voltage rescue procedures without hazard to themselves or others. LVR training has a 12 month validity.

Pre-course study (Online Tutorials): 1 – 2 Hours, plus
Face to Face Training & Assessment: 8 hours (this may be reduced or extended dependent upon student’s prior experience and uptake of skills and knowledge)

For quality purposes, the RTO must determine the amount of training it provides to each participant.

It is important to note that the HLTAID competency standards require a level of physical ability to meet the evidence requirements for assessment. These standards relate to the level of performance required to provide resuscitation and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life.

Due to the potential risk to health and safety where a nominated first aider, or worker with duty of care, does not have the ability to perform resuscitation to the performance standard; it is not appropriate to issue a Statement of Attainment to students who are physically unable to meet the assessment requirements – a Certificate of Participation will be issued instead.
