EWP training can improve your job prospects. Have you ever wanted to operate a work platform? In Australia you require a High Risk Work Licence to operate Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs) over 11 meters. However, there are plenty that fall under that limit. These still require training. We offer the VET accredited unit that shows you have the competency to operate these smaller machines. Some employers require a specific training package known as the Yellow Card, please confirm if they need you to have that training package, since many people refer to all EWP training as “Yellow Card” without always meaning it. This course is ideal for construction workers, miners, warehouse personnel, painters, renderers and logistics people. If you need training on specific equipement, contact our office with any questions.

This course will equip you with your EWP/Scissor Lift, allowing you to safely operate in the construction, maintenance and mining industries. This course is perfect for anyone wanting to continue their education and improve their skills within their trade.

Students who pass will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework. This accreditation is valid throughout Australia. The Statement is given out by ModSkills+ Talented Training (RTO 45144), which is a nationally accredited registered training organisation.

National Unit of Competency

RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate an elevating work platform at any height.

This unit applies to those working in operational roles.

The work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work but this unit does not provide the licence. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements that may apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors, and must be sourced prior to applying this unit.

There are a few prerequisites that must be met:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Basic knowledge and understanding of English (written and verbal)
- Have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills
- Provide photo proof of ID
- Wear closed in shoes
- Please note that arriving without this ID will result in you being turned away from the course
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)
- If English is your second language, you must advise us at the time of booking. Contact our Sales and Service Team on 07 3375 5822 to determine your eligibility to undertake this training. We will assist you in any way we can, but due to the demands of the assessment process, do not guarantee that every applicant will possess the level of LLN required for the assessment.
