Overview

The purpose of this course is to provide the skills and knowledge required to test the working atmosphere, using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work. It applies to situations where an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or workspace. The competency requires the person to interpret readings and take actions based on the interpretation

Working environments may be hazardous, unpredictable, subject to time pressure, chaotic and expose responders to risk, on land or water, by day or night. Workplace atmospheres may include visible and invisible hazards and hazardous surfaces.

Students will develop the skills and knowledge to test a working atmosphere in relation to planning and preparing to perform tasks; including accessing and interpreting safety and technical information for gas testing, correctly testing and monitoring gas, and maintaining personal protective equipment and gas testing equipment.

Give us a call at (07) 3375 5822 or (07) 4514 9035 to get started.

Participants who pass the assessment will receive a Statement of Attainment acknowledged by the Australian Qualifications Framework. This accreditation is recognised across Australia. The Statement is issued by ModSkills+ Talented Training (RTO 45144).
